School Days
We had an exciting fall this year because my little R started school. She really loves being in school and is doing really well at reading. Writing is a challenge for her because she doesn't think that the letters are fancy enough and is always trying to embellish them. Her kindergarten teacher is also a nearly exact replica of my kindergarten teacher. It is uncanny, but wonderful because I had a great kindergarten teacher.
First day of school.
Waiting for the bus.
L will be starting preschool this winter. He will be in a speech preschool to help with his delayed speech. The poor boy has trouble with pronunciation. He will also be receiving speech therapy weekly. I can't wait to better understand what my little guy is trying to tell me!

Late Summer
Let's go back in time Marty McFly style. These pictures are from August.
Last time around the block. I do miss those mountains.
We went to The Treehouse Museum a lot before we left. I had just bought a year membership and had to get the most of it. Above the kids are performing a dinosaur play for Step on Stage. L had everyone in stitches with his improvisations. He loves to make people laugh.
Road trip to our new state and a last look at Ogden.
On a hike: Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado.
It started out as a nice hike. But then we were hit with a torrential downpour. L was hiking with grandpa, but his rain jacket was with dad a mile or two ahead. Grandpa shared his hat and poncho bag to make L this super heroesque outfit. They took shelter under some trees until the rain stopped.

A New Home
As the hot dog said to the bun let's ketchup. We are now Coloradans(?). We are renting a town home about 20 minutes from Denver. We lived with J's parents for a few months and it was so nice of them to take us in until we could get settled. Our home in Utah should close in the next month or so. When it does, a gargantuan weight will be lifted from our shoulders. I think that my posture will literally and most definitely improve.
R loves being in school and is reading and writing like a champ. She was taking the bus while at her grandparents and that was her favorite part of school. Now I drive her and she is pretty disappointed, but at least we can still take her to the same school because it is only a ten minute drive from our new place. I will probably wait to switch schools until she starts first grade. We have a school a stone's throw from our front door and it beckons to me. L is as silly as ever and loves to pretend to be Spiderman and Batman and save the world. J likes his new job, he just needs to get used to commuting for 25 minutes to an hour (during traffic) instead of 5 minutes. I am getting the hang of living in a new place. I rarely get lost anymore and have found lots of great places to take the kids to play.
We are looking forward to Christmas and have already decorated. I usually make it a rule to wait until December, but it has somehow made my life less stressful to have a holiday atmosphere in the house.
I will follow up with some posts full of pictures and anecdotes when I have some more spare time. I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and enjoy the upcoming Holiday season.

Sunny Summertime
Rocky Shores. The new zoo exhibit. The kids couldn't get enough of the crazy seals.
The 4th.
Hiking in Colorado. We got caught in a bad storm partway through. I have never been so wet in my life.

Our Spring
Better late than never.
We had a busy spring as we usually do. R had a birthday in May. She graduated from preschool and had a dance recital. Then I had my birthday in June. Lots of fun and it all went by in a flash.
This is what I get when I tell R to give me her best birthday smile. What a clown.
Birthday party with her friends at Kangaroo Zoo.
Slip and Slide on a hot spring day.
Hiked Waterfall Canyon.

Amazingly cute dance recital
R picked me these on a nature walk.
J's work party had glitter body art for the kids.
