What's New...

This is always the busiest time of year for us. Let's start our summary of our happenings on May 1st which was Raquel's 1st birthday. Our baby is growing so quickly. A couple of days later, Jon graduated from the University of Utah with his Master's Degree in Accountancy. We had Jon's parents and his brothers staying with us in our apartment in Salt Lake City, which was really fun. While they were here we also played a lot of Wii, went to PF Changs (yummy, even though they don't serve their duck anymore), and the boys had an Axis and Allies game while Sue and Maria went shopping at Gardner village. We also went on a one day road trip to Mountain Home, Idaho to visit Jon's sister Melissa. 10 hours on the road in one day and Raquel slept most of the trip - amazing!
While all of this was going on Maria's brother Pete was marrying the lovely Wendy Ross in the Dominican Republic. We are really happy for them. Maria's dad also went into emergency surgery to remove a cancerous tumor from his colon which was successful. He has recovered well since then. Phew!
Raquel had a great mother's day gift for Maria...she started walking! Raquel is also saying a few more words. She says Jesus which she pronounces "shesus", shoes which she calls "shis" and yes which she says normally. These words were added to her previous vocabulary of mama and dada.
Jon has recently started his job with JD Clark and Company which is going really well. He works on hedge funds there and you will have to ask him what that means exactly. He just loves commuting 1 hr each way to Ogden everyday. Of course I am kidding we can't wait to move to Ogden which we will be able to do after June 17th, when we close on our house. We will really miss Salt Lake City which we have grown to love more than we had anticipated. We have lived in a great neighborhood, just off of Parley's Way. We highly recommend this area to anyone moving to Salt Lake City.
Another thing to note is that we celebrated our 3rd year of marriage on May 28th. Time flies.
Yesterday Maria turned 27. Jon spoiled her all day by changing a poopy diaper, cooking her chocolate chip waffles for breakfast (her favorite) and making her beef stroganoff for dinner, which is her favorite Jon-made meal.
So that is our story for now, we are looking forward to a visit in the next couple of weeks from Maria's sister, Christina. Raquel just loves Christina so we can't wait for her to come.

The One

We have house hunted for months and here is the house that won us over. It has 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It was built in th 20s and was pretty run down before the seller rehabed it to it's current state. It is in a neighborhood that is really charming. We are close to a high school which has been in a few movies apparently. I am not sure of which ones yet. We move in June 17thish, so anyone who wants to help us move...just let us know and we will gladly let you.
