Apple Pickin'
We went to a little apple orchard in beautiful Cache Valley to pick some apples and get some cider. Yum.
L really wanted to help.
We got a little lost along the way but R had a map. She picked out this apple picking outfit too. Pink socks, silver mary janes, purple heart sunglasses and an apple dress with bermuda shorts underneath. Classic R style.
This is J telling me that he knows exactly how to get there and we did make it...eventually.

Summer, Swings and Scooters
She told me that while I wasn't looking she jumped that big hole in the sidewalk.
This thing is really cool, it has a slide inside.
L in a Nutshell
We don't get to see our family very often so here is a summary of our baby boy.
This boy of mine is a ball of energy. He literally can't sit still unless his sister is watching Dora and then he is drawn to the tv like a moth to a flame (he can recognize Dora on R's coloring pages and toys and squeals with delight when he sees her).
He has done most physical accomplishments ahead of schedule probably due to the fact that he is a fairly big boy for his age. He crawled up the stairs before he was 6 months old, he cruised the furniture around 7 months and he has been standing on his own for almost a month. His latest attempts are at walking, but so far he mostly falls after one clumsily cute step.
He has 8 teeth and loves to smile at strangers. I have talked to all sorts of people thanks to his cute little smile. I was at the park the other day and L smiled at an older gentleman with a long white beard and the man let him pull his beard.
L thinks R is just the coolest. He laughs at everything she does and claps for her when she spins and dances around the house (which she does a lot, especially now that Luca is her admiring audience). He also claps when she sings Patty Cake for him.
L has a funny cry and he does it to a beat. You have to hear it, but it is sort of funny. He doesn't cry very often he actually prefers to yell, it sort of sound like he is saying hey. He also whimpers when he wants something.
He loves to pull plugs and push buttons. He has a special interest lately in the car dashboard.
He is definitely a happy baby and always seems to have a twinkle in his big brown eyes. He has far fewer nicknames than R did as a baby. R calls him "my baby boy" especially when she can't find him. Somehow we all started to call him Lukey Boo. He wears a disguise to look like human guys, but he's not a man he's a Lukey Boo. It's from Animaniacs, if anyone remembers that show and the Chicken Boo sketch. Don't ask how we started that, it's just too nerdy to repeat.
He loves to eat! He is just like his sister in that department. He gets really excited when I put him in his highchair. His favorite food? Pasta, just like his sister. The two of them are really alike in a lot of ways. But he also favors cantaloupe, peas, green beans, sweet potatoes, black beans, chicken and bananas.
He doesn't have a favorite toy, it changes everyday. He likes to find mischief and laughs when I catch him where he shouldn't be.

Splash Pad!
There is a pretty sweet splash pad around these parts that we have frequented. We pack dinner and have a picnic at the park. R LOVES to play in the water and it doesn't hurt that there is a swing set. She would spend her life on a swing if I let her, she says "push me high enough to get to the moon, but don't worry I'll come home soon." I'm sure that she didn't mean to rhyme but it's cute that it does.
